Job Description UPMC Pinnacle Medical Services is hiring a
Full-Time Nurse Midwife to join their team at UPMC Divine Mercy
Women's Hospital! This position will primarily located in Camp Hill
with regular travel to the other offices in Carlisle and other
Central PA birthing hospitals. Hours: Monday through Sunday shifts.
Rotating weekends and holidays. On call required, 12 or 24 hour
shifts. Location: This position will support several offices based
on staff and patient needs. Locations will include UPMC Divine
Mercy, UPMC Carlisle, and other Central PA birth hospitals and
sites. Position Specifics: Obstetrics and Gynecology - Preferred
Midwifery experience, preferred women’s health nursing/labor suite
experience. Department Details: This is a faith-based practice with
many learning opportunities for CME locally and through the

if applicable Purpose: Provides comprehensive primary health care
to a select population of essentially healthy women. Participates
in the care of women with medical complications in collaboration
with obstetricians/gynecologists. Responsibilities: - Perform
accurate history and physical examinations on essentially healthy
women, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose problems, and
manage minor problems and illnesses. - Provide primary care in an
ambulatory setting to women: preconception care, prenatal care,
labor and delivery management, postpartum care, normal newborn
care, well-woman gynecology, family planning, counseling in health
promotion, maintenance and disease prevention. - Participate in
research and continuing education activities. - Instruct and
supervise nursing and medical personnel. - Follow the mandatory
reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did
affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any
patient. - Identify deviations from normal and consults, co-manages
or refers as appropriate. - Provide individualized educational
opportunities for students including mentoring, supervision and
evaluation. - Provide individualized client teaching and counseling
utilizing the nurse midwifery philosophy. Completion of an
accredited school of nurse midwifery required. Bachelor's degree
required. Considerable degree of independent judgment to monitor
and respond to changes in a client's condition. Interpersonal
skills to work effectively with clients, families and all members
of the healthcare team. Oral and written skills necessary to
communicate effectively with patients, physicians and members of
the healthcare community. Licensure, Certifications, and
Clearances: CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a
didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) -
Midwife - Registered Nurse (RN) *Current licensure either in the
state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a
state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC)
agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC
state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC
license who later change their residency to the state where the
facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their
residency to apply for licensure within that state. UPMC is an
