Job Description:
MedStar Health, a leader in multi-disciplinary healthcare
services in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region, is expanding its
capabilities into energy management and sustainability, aimed at
enhancing our healthcare infrastructure. We are seeking an
experienced Power Plant Engineer III to ensure the efficient, safe,
and environmentally responsible operation of our in-house energy
production facilities. This role is crucial for maintaining the
uninterrupted operation of our medical operations and will involve
close coordination with our maintenance and environmental teams to
uphold standards and innovate solutions. Oversee the daily
operations of power generation equipment and processes to ensure
optimal performance. Implement maintenance strategies, safety
protocols, and environmental policies in compliance with
governmental regulations. Monitor and analyze energy consumption
and production data to identify opportunities for improvement and
cost savings. Collaborate with various departments to integrate
energy management solutions that support MedStar Health’s
operational efficiency and sustainability goals. Lead, train, and
mentor junior engineers and operational staff in best practices of
power plant operations and safety standards. Prepare technical
reports, document system designs, and maintain accurate records of
energy production metrics. Advanced knowledge of power plant
systems including electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in the
use of industry-standard software for simulation and energy
management. Effective communication and leadership abilities.
